About Thrifty Horizon
For many households, a car is the second-biggest cost after housing, and the monthly payment is only part of it. We write plain-English guides to what a car really costs, and how to buy, finance and run one without letting it run your budget.
What we do
We publish car cost guides, a car loan and true cost calculator, a guide to dealer fees and add-ons, the Car Cost checklist and a free printable Car Cost Workbook. We send The Road Ahead to people who sign up for it, and we're preparing the Car Buying Confidence Course, a paid self-paced course.
What we don't do
- We aren't a dealer, lender, insurer or warranty company.
- We don't earn commissions or sell leads to any of them.
- We don't review or negotiate individual deals.
- We never sell or share your email address.
